BEA SPEAKMAN

Bea grew up in Europe, Africa, and Asia as the daughter of an oil exploration geologist who traveled the world mapping oil reserves. She had the opportunity to see the world in her youth and as an adult concluded that the best place to live and raise a family is in Sandpoint, Idaho.

She has been married to her best friend David for 35 years. 17 years ago, together with their three children, they traveled to 35 states in search of the best place to live in the United States. They pulled into Sandpoint and found home. Their 3 children enjoyed Sandpoint High School and are now a mechanical engineer, a financial professional, and a student of biochemistry.

Bea has been an insurance professional since she graduated from college 34 years ago. Today she applies her years of experience in the insurance industry to help clients and the community navigate the often-uncomfortable experience we call insurance. Bea owns and operates her own agency, Speakman Insurance Agency in Ponderay with her husband Dave. Together they provide advice and direct access to Idaho Farm Bureau Insurance policies which were developed for Idaho residents, farms, and businesses to keep the rates low and the service local. Bea placed the insurance for our beloved Cedar Street Bridge and helped Bonner County save over $200,000 per year by securing local property insurance for our county.

Bea and Dave now enjoy hiking, cycling, swimming, and volleyball in their free time. Bea enjoys the Long Bridge Swim and the Festival at Sandpoint and looks forward to serving this great community by preserving its beauty and the beautiful experiences found in this place we call home.
