Festival at Sandpoint Distributes 200 Tickets in Collaboration with Innovia Foundation
This year, the Festival at Sandpoint was proud to partner with Innovia Foundation on the 2024 Grand Finale performance of How to Train Your Dragon - In Concert.
With Innovia’s support through its 50th Anniversary Grant and Community Grant, the Festival at Sandpoint was able to distribute 200 tickets to underprivileged individuals.
The program works in close partnership with local schools and organizations to ensure free tickets reach those who need them most.
Festival at Sandpoint Reveals 2024 Fine Arts Poster
The Festival at Sandpoint kicked off its summer celebration last night at their Sponsor Appreciation Event while also revealing its 2024 Fine Arts Poster created by local, designer and illustrator Daniel Gill.
Gill’s winning piece, “Scotchman Sunset,” was inspired by his experience hiking Scotchman Peak this past summer.
As is tradition, Daniel Gill has donated the original piece to be auctioned, with 50% of the proceeds supporting the Festival’s non-profit mission, and 50% supporting, the Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness, another local non-profit.
Festival at Sandpoint to Offer New Second Venue Bar Location
New this year at the Festival at Sandpoint’s 2024 Summer Series, guests can quench their thirst at one of two on-site bars operated by Sweet Lou’s.
In an effort to offer the best guest experience and expedite line wait times, the Festival will now be offering a new “Grab & Go” venue bar location in addition to its original “Full-Service” bar location so guests can spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying the performance.
The new “Grab & Go” bar will only serve canned beer, wine, and canned drinks like seltzers.
The “Full-Service” bar will serve canned drinks as well as cocktails, beer on tap, and wine.
Festival at Sandpoint Welcomes New Staff and Board Member
The Festival at Sandpoint is excited to welcome former intern and Coeur d'Alene native Madison Canale to the full-time staff.
She will be joining the team as the Festival at Sandpoint’s Executive & Programming Assistant.
The Festival at Sandpoint would also like to welcome Sarah Pillsbury as the newest member of the nonprofit’s board of directors.
Festival at Sandpoint Reveals 2024 Summer Series Lineup Poster
The Festival at Sandpoint is excited to reveal its 2024 Summer Series Lineup Poster designed by Poster Contest Scholarship Winner Magdalena Idzikowska.
The Festival at Sandpoint’s 2024 Series Lineup Poster Artist Magdalena Idzikowska is a college student pursuing a degree in Graphic and Web Design from North Idaho College.
As the creator of the winning Series Lineup Poster for the Festival’s 2024 Poster Contest, Idzikowska will receive a $1,000 scholarship to apply toward continuing her college education.
Festival at Sandpoint Announces 2024 Scholarship Winners
The Festival at Sandpoint is excited to award $9,250 in scholarships to six local high school and college students for accomplishments in music and the arts.
2024 scholarship winners include: Evan Schwenk, Keane Haesle, Titus Tucker, Gavin Nicholson, Emmett Adams, and Magdalena Idzikowska.
Festival at Sandpoint Offers Spring Masterclasses
In conjunction with its Instrument Library program, the Festival purchased 14 new Eastman student model trombones to outfit all seven LPOSD elementary schools.
Alongside the trombones, this spring, the Festival will also provide students with section-based, small-group instruction focusing on percussion and woodwind instruments, as part of the organization’s ongoing Masterclasses program.
These programs will provide more than 75 hours of support to over 350 students across LPOSD Band programs.

Volunteer departments include admissions, box office, green team, merchandise, production, and more. Becoming a volunteer is a great way to be part of the excitement of the Festival while also giving back to a nonprofit and the community.
Looking for the skill-building of an internship with a shorter commitment, join the Festival at Sandpoint's paid production crew from July 19 to August 7.
Festival at Sandpoint Announces 2024 Poster Contest Winners
The Festival at Sandpoint’s Fine Arts Poster tradition dates back to the start of the organization in 1983. What started as advertisement and fundraising for the Festival at Sandpoint has now become a way to showcase the community’s many talented artists to celebrate and publicize their work.
In 2022, the Festival at Sandpoint altered the selection process to an open competition and began accepting community submissions for its first Fine Arts Poster Contest. This year’s contest was expanded to include a potential Series Lineup winner as well.
Daniel Gill, a Sandpoint designer and illustrator, was selected as the Festival at Sandpoint’s 2024 Fine Arts Poster Artist.
In addition to the 2024 Fine Arts Poster winner, Magdalena Idzikowska, a college student pursuing a degree in Graphic and Web Design from North Idaho College, was selected as the 2024 Series Lineup Poster Artist and scholarship winner.
Festival at Sandpoint Welcomes New Board Members
The Festival at Sandpoint is excited to welcome Doug Hawkins Jr. and Eric Paull as the newest members of the nonprofit’s board of directors.
Hawkins joined the Festival board in December 2023. The newest board member, Eric Paull, joined the Festival’s board of directors in February 2024.
Doug Hawkins Jr. is a sixth-generation Sandpoint resident, and he and his wife and their six kids are active in the Bonner County community and enjoy attending the Festival at Sandpoint every year.
Paull grew up in Lewiston and attended Lewis Clark State College, where he received a degree in Business Administration. Upon graduating, he began his career in banking and, in 1995, was fortunate to be transferred to the Sandpoint area. He and his wife Lisa have two children, Bridger and Carson, both graduates of Sandpoint High School.
Festival at Sandpoint Releases 2023 Annual Report
At the end of each fiscal year, the Festival at Sandpoint publishes its Annual Report, highlighting information and updates to the organization and its programs from October of the previous year to September of the current year.
For the third consecutive year, the 2023 Summer Performance Series broke organizational records due in part to capacity increase and three sold-out performances.
With one of the Festival’s best and highest-caliber lineups in the organization's history came record ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations.

Festival at Sandpoint Offers Third Year of Free Pre-K Outreach Program
The Festival at Sandpoint entered the third year of its Pre-K Outreach program, a free series of in-class lessons designed to engage students through rhythm, movement, and song.
During each session, students focus on a specific rhythmic element while integrating new instruments. This rhythm-based approach helps students establish strong foundations at a pivotal age of 3-6 years, which is one of the largest gaps in music education nationwide.
The curriculum is tailored each year to work with existing music requirements in the local schools and introduce students to a myriad of instruments and new genres of music.
Festival at Sandpoint Supplies LPOSD with New Instruments
The Festival at Sandpoint is partnering with the Lake Pend Oreille School District to provide instrumental support for beginning band students.
In conjunction with our Instrument Library program, the Festival purchased 14 new Eastman student model trombones to outfit all seven LPOSD elementary schools.
Now, over 300 students throughout LPOSD will have access to low brass instruments as part of the 6th Grade Band Program.
Festival at Sandpoint Now Accepting 2024 Festival Street Food Vendor Applications
The Festival at Sandpoint is now accepting Festival Street vendor applications for its 2024 Summer Series.
With thousands of guests from across the United States, the Summer Series offers an incredible opportunity for vendors to gain exposure, increase their customer base, showcase their culinary talents, and participate in the community.
Due to space constraints, the Festival will only be considering applications from food and beverage vendors.
Festival at Sandpoint Youth Orchestra Accepting New Members
The Festival at Sandpoint’s Youth Orchestra is currently accepting new members, with the first rehearsal being held on Monday, September 18, 2o23.
Classes are free for all ages and held weekly on Monday evenings.
Currently, the program is composed of two groups, a Beginning Orchestra and a Continuing Orchestra, both led by the Festival at Sandpoint’s Youth Orchestra Conductor, Karen Dignan. Both groups are open to any orchestral string players, including the violin, viola, cello, bass, and more.
Festival at Sandpoint Instrument Library Now Open
The Festival at Sandpoint’s Instrument Library is now open for the school year.
In alignment with its non-profit mission to provide affordable and accessible music to the community, the Festival at Sandpoint offers a no-cost instrument library in an attempt to help keep music an affordable option for local families.
The Festival’s instrument library is available for anyone looking to play an instrument during the school year or summer. The school year check-out period begins in September and ends in June, while the summer check-out period begins in June and ends in August.
Festival at Sandpoint’s 2024 Poster Contest Applications Now Open
Submissions for the Festival at Sandpoint’s 2024 Fine Arts Poster Contest are now open.
All ages are encouraged and welcome to apply, those 18 years of age or under will require parental/guardian consent. Applications are due by 5:00 PM PST on February 2, 2024.
Submissions are evaluated on multiple criteria: originality, creativity, execution, quality, demonstrated skill, and how well the art embodied the spirit of the Festival community in a creative or innovative way.
Festival at Sandpoint Awards 2023 Volunteer of the Year
On Tuesday, August 22, at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Event, the Festival at Sandpoint honored its 2023 volunteers and awarded Tim Rosco as the 2023 Volunteer of the Year.
Tim Rosco has volunteered for the Festival at Sandpoint since 2009, for a total of 15 years with the nonprofit organization. Rosco is the Front Gate Co-Chair alongside Kelly Whitman and helps oversee and manage one of the largest departments, with upwards of 60 volunteers working each night.
The Festival at Sandpoint would like to thank Tim for his tireless efforts, thoughtfulness, dependability, and selflessness throughout the years.

Free event parking is available at 410 S Division Street in the Sandpoint High School parking lot. A free SPOT shuttle service is available to and from the venue for all performances. Daily shuttle times are posted in the full 2023 Festival event program.
