Development & Community Engagement Coordinator

  • The Festival at Sandpoint (FAS) is seeking a passionate and dynamic Development & Community Engagement Coordinator as a key team member of this iconic non-profit organization.

    This role manages comprehensive development initiatives from research and planning to execution and analysis. They are critical in supporting our mission by driving fundraising initiatives, fostering community relationships, and enhancing our outreach efforts, including local and state advocacy.

    This role strategically works to reach budgeted revenue goals from donations, grant funding, and fundraising events. They report directly to the Finance & Development Manager and assist with day-to-day decision-making and long-term strategic planning regarding fundraising, donations, capital, and grants.

    They will work to increase support for and awareness of the Festival at Sandpoint's mission among the community and potential supporters.

    Additional duties and responsibilities will be assigned, particularly during the annual Summer Performance Series.

  • Fundraising & Grants:

    • Assist in the development and execution of an annual fundraising plan including appeals, special events, membership levels, gifts and grants, sponsorships, endowment, and capital and special projects

    • Oversees fundraising and engagement strategies and campaigns to meet or exceed revenue goals

    • Plan and execute fundraising events, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

    • Maintain and grow the Festival at Sandpoint’s Endowment Fund by developing, maintaining, and executing an Endowment Development Plan

    • Facilitate overall capital campaign management and organization

    • Oversee year-round calendar of grant opportunities, develop proposals; complete grant applications, and write reports and acknowledgments

    • Identify and cultivate new grant funding opportunities

    • Closely track grant submission requirements and deadlines to ensure timely submissions


    Donor Engagement & Development:

    • Develop and implement strategies to increase community involvement and support

    • Serve as the primary liaison for community partners and sponsors

    • Represent the Festival at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities

    • Coordinate and manage donor relations, cultivation, and stewardship activities

    • Maximize awareness, and increase contributions from individual and foundation supporters

    • Identify, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of approximately 200 donors and potential donors, through in-person meetings, phone calls, written solicitations, and other forms of targeted outreach


    Advocacy:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with local and state government officials, tourism boards, and industry stakeholders

    • Advocate for policies and initiatives that support the arts, cultural events, and tourism development in the community

    • Represent the Festival at Sandpoint in meetings, public hearings, and other forums to promote our mission and funding needs

    • Collect and analyze data on the economic impact of the Festival at Sandpoint on local tourism and the community

    • Prepare reports and presentations to demonstrate the value and impact of the festival to city and state stakeholders

    • Communicate the festival’s role in driving tourism and economic growth to garner continued support and funding

    • Monitor city and state legislative activities that could impact arts funding, tourism, and cultural events

    • Work collaboratively with local tourism and economic development organizations to align Festival at Sandpoint initiatives with broader community goals

    Administrative Support:

    • Maintain donor and sponsor databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

    • Prepare regular reports on fundraising and donor activities

    • Provide administrative support to the Finance & Development Manager as needed, including but not limited to record retention management and document archiving

2025 Summer Internship

  • Each summer, the Festival offers a seasonal, paid internship program that allows interns to gain hands-on experience in the music industry and event operations and get a behind-the-scenes look into the making of a music festival.

    Our immersive program includes thoughtfully mentoring and creating roles based on interns’ strengths and interests in departments such as marketing, merchandise, box office management, hospitality, event production, facility operations, and volunteer coordination.

    The Festival at Sandpoint is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, driven, organized, and enthusiastic summer intern(s).

    Interns must be able to commit to a minimum of three full days (9 AM - 5 PM) in the Festival at Sandpoint office and venue in Sandpoint, Idaho. Hours will vary during the Summer Series.

    Summer Intern(s) will be responsible for the basic day-to-day operations of the office, from answering phones, selling concert tickets, and customer service. They will also assist full-time staff with projects and event preparation as needed.

2025 PRODUCTION CREW

  • Looking for fun, fast-paced summer work? Join the Festival at Sandpoint’s Production Crew and get paid while getting hands-on music industry and event production experience.

    Production Crew is responsible for helping to build and take down the venue for the Summer Series at War Memorial Field.

    During the Summer Series, Production Crew may assist with sound, lighting, venue operations, and more.
