Eric grew up in Lewiston and attended Lewis Clark State College, where he received a degree in Business Administration. Upon graduating, he began his career in banking and, in 1995, was fortunate to be transferred to the Sandpoint area. He and his wife Lisa have two children, Bridger and Carson, both graduates of Sandpoint High School.

In his free time, Eric enjoys skiing at Schweitzer, boating on Lake Pend Oreille, biking (road and mountain), hiking, relaxing time in the garden, and spending time with family and friends.

Eric is involved in other community organizations; Sandpoint Rotary Club (past president), Panhandle Alliance for Education (current treasurer), Chairman of Sandpoint Urban Renewal Agency board of commissioners, and is a board of director of the Kootenay Ponderay Sewer District.
